RAF Mosquito Pilot Flying Helmet & Goggles.

RAF Early pattern D-Type Flying Helmet & Mk VIII Flying Goggles.

Named to RAF Pilot, F/O, Allan Charles Biggar of 256 Squadron.
He flew RAF Mosquito Fighter's.

His Canvas D-Type Flying Helmet has an Air Ministry Ref. No. 22C/584 which is stamped on to the neck flap, and is a size 4.
Inside it is named to him.

The helmet is the 2nd pattern (or intermediate) D-Type which has an external wiring loom (not present) and an elastic chin strap.
Side press studs fixings are for the D, E and G-Type Oxygen Masks and also a retaining clip to one side is present.

The rubber ear cups are in a very good condition and are still pliable.
The inside silk lining is complete but soiled with use.
Overall Condition is a good 'Used' helmet.

The Mk VIII Flying Goggles have tinted lenses (which have some small chips).
The leather surrounds are complete but show signs of cracking.
The elastic strap is in a nice condition, with some rust marks.
Overall, these goggles are in a good 'used' condition.
