RAF B-Type Flying Helmet Largest Size 4

RAF B-Type Leather Flying Helmet, Size 4.

This classic RAF flying helmet is famous for being the type worn by Fighter Pilots during the Battle of Britain.

Air Ministry Ref. No. 22C/65.

The helmet outside chrome leather is in a very good condition.
The Bennett's buckle fastener's are complete, and the chin strap retains it's metal end-piece.

With Zip Ear receiver coverings and a pair of black rubber cushions inside.
Both zips work perfectly (one leather puller is missing).

The inside chamois leather is complete, but with some soiling.
A large 'G. Waddington & Son' label is stitched to the crown, with the size 4 and a 1941 date (see photo).

It is named.

This is the Largest size that this helmet was made in, making it much harder to find.

This helmet is in a very good 'used' condition.
