WW2, British Climbing Breeches

Scarce pair of British Climbing Breeches.

Size No.5 and dated 1945.

These heavy duty breeches have a single pocket to the front and two to the rear, also an extra button down flap pocket inside.

The ankles have metal strap fasteners.

In some reference's these unusual trousers are said to have been used by Special Forces to help protect the soldiers legs when scaling cliffs & mountains.

This example is in a good clean condition, although there have been some moth repair's.
