A fine wartime Medal grouping to USAAF B-26 Marauder Bombardier / Air Gunner - Sgt. R.E. Dolan, of the 320 Bomb group, 441 Bomb Squadron.

These air theatre campaigns were in - Normandy, Northern & Southern France, Europe, Italy & North Africa.

He was twice wounded in action when his aircraft was hit by flak, being awarded two Purple Heart's, one time presented to him by the famous Eddie Richenbacher.
There are period newspaper clippings relating to his wounding's and official letters in the group.

There are some nice b/w photo's showing his B-26 on a operation taken from another aircraft, studio portrait's of him (one with a lucky four leaf clover stuck to it) one of him in Flying Gear, another of him and his crew wearing A-2 jackets, target shots, crashed German aircraft & tanks etc....

There are official letters, commendation certificate news clippings, letters etc.. which are amongst the included paperwork.
Also, some copies of mission summaries for the two Operations he was wounded.
The 320th BG website has a complete listing of all missions, therefore all of his operational flights can be copied.

The group comes with his cased Air Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters and is privately engraved, boxed good conduct medal, cased Purple Heart with oak leaf cluster, aircrew wings, early converted air gunner wings, silver marksman qualification badge, unit citation badge, medal ribbons.
